Randy Joe Ferguson

Randy Joe Ferguson, 65, of rural Jonesboro, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at his home. Born in Jonesboro, Randy lived most of his life in the Bay area. He was born on December 5, 1955 to Richard “Toot” and Betty Lou Ferguson. He was an electrician by trade, having worked for Davis Electric and RGB Mechanical Contractors for most of his career. He enjoyed golfing with his friends.

He was a 1974 graduate of Bay High School where he was a standout athlete in both basketball and baseball. He set many records and won several school, district, and state athletic awards.

Survivors include two sons, Wesley Ferguson and Taylor Ferguson of Jonesboro, one daughter, Miley Ferguson of Brookland, brothers, Dan Ferguson, Rick Ferguson, and Tim Ferguson, all of Jonesboro, a sister, Susie (Ed) Rayburn of Bay, four granddaughters, Sydney and Oakley Ferguson of Jonesboro and Maggie and Kailey Ferguson of Jonesboro, aunts, an uncle, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, paternal grandparents, Claude and Ruth Ferguson, maternal grandparents, Ossie and Vivian Taylor, and a brother, Jerry Ferguson.

Visitation will be on Monday evening, 5:30 to 6:00 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at Emerson Funeral Home, with Bro. Danny Taylor of Bay First Baptist Church officiating.
