Randal Wayne Bailey

Randal Wayne Bailey, 80, passed away on June 25 th at Flo and Phil Hospice House in Jonesboro. He was the husband of Beverly Bailey. They shared 59 years of marriage together.

Born July 14, 1938 in Dixie, he was the son of Marcus and Sarah (Cable) Bailey. He was a graduate of Dixie High School. Honorably discharged from the Army National Guard. Then went on to graduate from Diesel Mechanic School in Nashville. Randal and Beverly founded Pocahontas Machine Works in May 1974 and worked there until selling the business and retiring in 2006.

He was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge #129. Randal served as a coach and financial supporter of youth baseball. He was a founding member of Residents Against Illegal Drugs, helping to donate over $150,000 to the Craighead County Sheriff Department DARE program. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, amazing poppa and caring friend.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly, his children David (Mia) Bailey of Jonesboro, Mark (Barbara) Bailey of Mountain View, and Randy Bailey of Corpus Christi. His sisters, Bonnie Adams and Betty Clayton of Jonesboro. His grandchildren, Bryan, Jordan and Marcus Bailey of Jonesboro. Jenifer Bailey of North Carolina. Terri Moore of Australia. Kimberly Bailey of Higden. Raistlin, Jack and Danny Bailey of Corpus Christi. As well as 5 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 29 th at 10:00 AM at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Graveside service to follow at Philadelphia Cemetery with the active pallbearers being Jack McCann, Rick Thomas, Mike Miller, Donnie Huffine, Lonnie Roberts Jr., and Ron Fulton. The honorary pallbearers will be Marty Rodney, Stan McMillan, Ranny Rodgers, Lonnie Roberts Sr., Craig McDaniel, Bill Duncan, and the Pocahontas Machine Works employees. Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Friday, June 28 th .
