Ramona E. (Buhrmester) McQuinn

Ramona Buhrmester McQuinn, 98 years old, residing at the Ridgecrest Health and Rehabilitation facility in Jonesboro passed into the hands of the Lord in Heaven on December 11, 2022, after suffering from complications from COVID 19.

She was born on August 30, 1924 in Harrisburg, Arkansas.  Her parents were TJ and Jewell Graves.  She had one brother, Dr. Ray Graves.

Ramona was married in 1945 to her first high school sweetheart, F.W. (Fritz) Burhmester Sr. She happily resided in Weiner, Arkansas for many years as a farmer’s wife and full-time mother.  After the death of her first husband, she went back to school (at the age of 56) earning her LPN nursing certification and worked for several years as a nurse until retiring.

In 2001 Ramona remarried her other high-school sweetheart, Carl McQuinn, and lived in Covington Louisiana until returning to Jonesboro in 2014.

Ramona was a lifelong gardener and lover of nature.  In her later years she lived in two senior living communities where she always had a beautiful flower garden and variety of bird feeders that she enjoyed daily.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, her husbands, and daughter Rebecca Buhrmester Lamberson.

Survivors include her son Fred (Betty) Buhrmester Jr. of Jonesboro, daughter Patricia (John) White of Juneau, Alaska, son Paul Burhmester of Millington, TN and one stepdaughter, Barbara McQuinn Newman of San Antonio, TX. Other survivors include 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 11:30 to 1:00 on December 14, 2022 at Fisher Street United Methodist Church in Jonesboro with services following, officiated by Dr. Charles Coleman. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be grandsons: Darren Moyer, Sean Buhrmester, Daniel Buhrmester, Paul R. Buhrmester, Lee Lamberson and Nathan Lewis.
