Ralph Edward Poynor

Ralph Ed Poynor, 62 of Harrisburg, died Wednesday at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born January 19, 1955 to Ralph and Jeanette Cochran Poynor in Jonesboro. He spent most of his life in Jonesboro before moving to Lafayette, Louisiana where he lived for 8 years and then came to Harrisburg. Ralph Ed was an avid hunter, enjoyed fishing and was involved in BBQ competitions. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents and a brother.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Chris Poynor of the home; daughter, Meredith Adams of Harrisburg; son, Ryan Poynor of California; sisters, Julia Poynor, Janis Foster, Jill Poynor; grandchildren, Beau Adams, Caitlyn Adams and 1 great grandchild, Charlee Gibson.

A memorial service will be Monday, March 6, 2017 at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Harrisburg at 5:30 pm with Jason Goad officiating. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
