Ralph P. Gott, 84, of Jonesboro, died Sunday, May 1, 2011, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.
A native and life-long resident of Jonesboro, Ralph owned and operated an accounting office and insurance agency for many years. He was a member of First Baptist Church and was a U.S. Navy veteran of W.W. II. Ralph was a past member of the Jonesboro School Board, the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission and the American Legion. He was a founding member of the Philadelphia Rural Water Association and served several years on the City Water and Light Board of Directors.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Edward and Cora Bell Gott, by his step mother, Myrtle H. Gott, and by two brothers, Rufus Gott and Roy Gott.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Pauline Gott of the home;
3 sons and 2 daughters-in-law: Dan Gott, and Mike and Karen Gott, all of Jonesboro, and Terry and Lori Gott of Harrison.
1 sister, Ruth Tausch of North Little Rock;
4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:30 in Strawfloor Cemetery with Dr. Bruce Tippit officiating.
Active pallbearers include Stephen Gott, Stanley Gott, Gary Gott, Slade Mitchell, Eric Mitchell, and Joey Spinks. Honorary pallbearers include Jamie (Craft) Fulmer, Sharon (Craft) Littlejohn, Shelby (Craft) Jones, Glenda Lane, and the Adult Men Sunday school class at First Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, 5-7, at Emerson Funeral Home.
