Ralph E. Buhrmester, Jr., 80, of Jonesboro, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2020, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.
A native of Jonesboro, Ralph was a graduate of Jonesboro High School and a graduate of Arkansas State College. He farmed several years with his family in the Otwell community of Craighead County but for the majority of his adult working life, Ralph owned and operated Buhrmester Trucking Company.
Ralph was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Jonesboro and was a long-time basketball official in northeast Arkansas. In his earlier years, Ralph built and raced stockcars in the dirt track circuit of northeast Arkansas and southeast Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents: Ralph E., Sr. and Althea Ford Buhrmester; two brothers: Elmer and Fritz Buhrmester; and two sisters: Norma Jean Mattix and Wilma Black.
Survivors include 1 son and daughter-in-law: Ralph E. "Skip" III and Diana Buhrmester of Bay;
1 sister, Lola Mae Ladd of Heber Springs;
1 grandson and his wife: Brandon and Holly Buhrmester of Jonesboro; and
3 great grandsons: Cade, Collin and Connor Buhrmester of Jonesboro.
Per the wishes of Ralph Buhrmester, Jr., all services will be private. There will be no visitation.
