Rafael Lopez

Rafael Lopez, 47, of Newport, Arkansas, died Sunday at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Walnut Ridge.

Born in Chicago, Rafael lived in Caruthersville, Missouri, and Tuckerman before moving to the Newport area. He worked in construction before becoming ill and disabled. He attended Hope United Methodist Church in Elgin.

He was a member of the Office of Emergency Management and was preceded in death by his parents: John and Andrea Galven Lopez; and by 2 brothers: Jose Lopez and
Raymond Lara.

Survivors include:
1 Daughter: Andrea Lynn Lopez Miller of Newport;

2 Brothers: John Lopez of Stockton, California, and
Valentine Lopez of Bloomington, Indiana;

4 Sisters: Rose Garza, and
Gloria Hernandez, both of Chicago, and
Hope Lawrence of Tuckerman, and
Juanita Miller of Newport.

Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, April 18, 2007, from 5-8, at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Services and burial will be private.
