R. Wayne Fogle, 85, of Jonesboro died Tuesday April 25, 2006 at the NEA Medical Center.
He was born in War Eagle, Arkansas and lived in Jonesboro for 43 years, moving here from Forrest City, Arkansas. He was a retired agent for the Internal Revenue Service, a Certified Public Accountant, and an internal auditor with Simmons Bank in Jonesboro. He graduated from Tulsa Central High School in 1938 . He attended the University of Tulsa. He received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration from ASU.
He was a captain in the US Army and served during WWII. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Jonesboro where he served as an Elder, a Deacon and Treasurer. He was a member of the Arkansas Society of Certified Public Accountants and a life member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Josie Glenn Fogle and Hazel Hemphill Fogle; one brother, Russell L. Fogle and one sister, Glenna Fogle Mohler.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Marjorie York Fogle of the home; one son,
R. Mark Fogle of Jonesboro; one daughter, Diane Fogle Young and son-in-law, John H. Young of Jonesboro; one brother, F. Lyle Fogle of Cushing, Oklahoma; two grandsons, Alan D. Young of Jonesboro and Brian J. Young of Carrollton, Texas.
The funeral service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, April 29, 2006 at the First Presbyterian Church in Jonesboro with the Rev. David Laverty officiating. The burial will be in the Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be Friday, April 28, 2006 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
The active pallbearers will be R. Mark Fogle, Brian J. Young, Alan D. Young, F. Lyle Fogle, John H. Young and Bill R. Fritz.
The honorary pallbearers are Clyde Harcrow, Jack Poling, Rush Barrett, R.E. Johnson, Harry Hardwick, W.T. Garland and the Men of the Elks.
