Polly Foltz

Polly Foltz, 92, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Tuesday, January 31, 2017. She was born to Edd and Emma Mitchell in Jonesboro on March 5, 1924. Shortly after Polly married her husband, Staton Foltz, they moved to Jackson, Mississippi and lived there until 1986. When they moved back to Jonesboro Polly rejoined the Highland Drive Baptist Church and was very active. She was also a member of the Sunshine Sunday School Class and the Tuesday Morning Needle Work Group. Polly enjoyed traveling and gardening. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edd and Emma Mitchell; husband, Staton Foltz; son, David Foltz; and brother, Tony Mitchell.

Polly is survived by her nephews, Steve Mitchell (Jenny) of Jonesboro and Mike Mitchell (Brenda) of Jonesboro; nieces, Patty Yonce (Billy) of Dallas, Texas and Claudia Regan (Ken) of Bozeman, Montana; very special cousins, Verrel and Roberta Foltz of Jonesboro. The family would also like to offer a special thanks to Craighead Nursing Center, St. Bernards Hospital, St. Bernards Hospice, and Dr. Diamond.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, February 3, 2017 at Emerson Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Hutchison officiating. Burial will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery with her great nephews acting as active pallbearers. The honorary pallbearers will be Charles Gibson, Dale Taylor, Jerry Barnes, Ed Hankins, Glenda Cheatham, and the Sunshine Ladies Sunday School Class.

The visitation will be prior to the service from 10-11 am.
