Obituary

Phyllis (Lynn) Virginia Bailey passed away on September 3, 2026, at Craighead Nursing Center in Jonesboro, surrounded by family. She was born on December 8, 1959, to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bailey.

She resided at the Jonesboro Human Development Center for more than 30 years before coming home to live with her “B,” Barbara Sullivan, in 2009. It was during these years that Phyllis Lynn lived her best life.

Phyllis Lynn loved going out to eat and drinking her coffee all day long. One of her favorite pastimes was watching TV with “B,” particularly The Price Is Right and Wheel of Fortune. She may have been considered mentally and physically challenged, but that didn’t stop her from having a huge personality that she wasn’t afraid to show. She was a sweet and kind soul who loved her family and friends dearly. Phyllis was always up for holding a hand or getting a hug, especially if it meant getting a cup of coffee out of it.

Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, a beloved aunt, and her adopted mom, Barbara (B) Sullivan.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her adopted sister, Jessica Womble (Dave); nieces Daria Seay (Austin Chadick) and Raymi Womble (Gunner Rainwater); nephew Clark Womble; great-niece Murphie Chadick; Maw-in-Law Alene Nix (Norman); dear friends Dale and Karen Chadick; and many other family and friends.

Services will be held on September 8, 2026, at Emerson Funeral Home, with visitation from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm and the funeral to follow at 2:00 pm. Burial will be at Willis Cemetery, Central Community, Harrisburg, AR.

Pallbearers will be Clark Womble, Austin Chadick, Dale Chadick, Darvin Fowler, Brance Reeves, and Ayden Eaton. Honorary pallbearers are David Keedy and Ron Eaton.
