Phillip Edward Evans, 42, of Jonesboro passed from this life Monday, January 23, 2017 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. He was born September 12, 1974 in Wynne, Arkansas to Jerry and Carolyn Evans. Phillip has lived most of his adult life residing in Jonesboro but spent a brief period of time in Hot Springs. He was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ.
Phillip was a carpenter, a house builder, a flower arranger, a hospital administrator. He was a friend to everyone and had a true servant's heart. He loved football, biking, running, camping, training dogs. He was a dreamer and there was nothing he could not do. He loved his wife fiercely and was an incredible father. He will be deeply missed.
Phillip is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Taft and Zelma Harrison Evans and his maternal grandparents: Lonnie Thomas and Annie Mae Carter.
In addition to his parents, Phillip is survived by his wife, Brooks Evans, of sixteen years; one son: Noah Evans; one daughter: Hannah Evans; one brother: Bryan (Cara) Evans of West Memphis; two sisters: Lisa (Brent) Clayton of Wynne and DeAnn (Zach) Penter of Trumann; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be at 9:00 am Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Vanndale Cemetery in Vanndale, Arkansas.
A memorial service will be at noon on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Southwest Church with John McCallum and Chris Harrall officiating. A reception will follow immediately after the service.
Active pallbearers will include: Bryan Evans, Chris Gardener, Grant McDaniel, Blake Barber, Ron Smith, Dale Carter, Lance Vines, and Josh Searcy.
