Phil Phillips

Phil Phillips, 70, of Jonesboro, passed from this life on Sunday, May 31, 2020, at his home of natural causes.

Phil was a native and life-long resident of Jonesboro. He was a 1967 graduate of Nettleton High School and a 1971 graduate of Arkansas State University. Phil was active in the organization and coordination of the Nettleton Golden Years Reunion for NHS alumni and enjoyed reconnecting with his friends and schoolmates from former years.

Phil was a professional Graphic Designer and owned and operated Phil Phillips Advertising in Jonesboro for many years. Phil's area of specialization was political campaigns operated locally, state-wide and out-of-state. He thoroughly enjoyed consulting and managing political campaigns. Long-term relationships and friendships were often forged and maintained when Phil was involved in a campaign.

Phil enjoyed gospel music and enjoyed traveling to see the Gaithers in concert as well as other gospel groups and quartets. He was preceded in death by his parents: Charley and Hazel Forbis Phillips.

Survivors include his wife of 46 1/2 years, Sandy Holman Phillips of the home;
1 daughter, Morgan Foster;
2 sisters: Jo Ann Gambill and Opal Smothermon;
1 brother, Joel Phillips; and
1 granddaughter, Laney Foster, all of Jonesboro, and many other relatives and friends.

Graveside funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Frankie Hardwick officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

There will be no visitation.
