Pete Keyes

January 28, 1958 — September 8, 2024

Peter Merle Keyes, 66, of Jonesboro, passed away at his home in rural Jonesboro on September 8, 2024. He was born on January 28, 1958, in Tucson, Arizona, to the late Howard and June Keyes.

Pete proudly served his country as a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a dedicated member of the Nettleton Masonic Lodge #657. He had a deep passion for guns and loved spending time shooting. One of his greatest joys was dressing up as Santa Claus every year, bringing smiles and joy to the community.

In addition to his parents, Pete was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Keyes, and his sisters, Flossie Taylor and Mary Ray.

He is survived by his sons, Peter Keyes (Hannah Chapman) of Kokomo, Indiana, and Howard Keyes of Jonesboro; daughters, Jewel Ware (Samuel) of Weston, West Virginia, and Courtney Jackson of Kokomo, Indiana; brothers, Herbert Ogles (Angela) of Jonesboro, and Darold Ogles (Heidi) of Jonesboro; sisters, Betty Nichols of Senath, Shirley Partain of Bono, and Doris Franklin (Wayne) of Muskogee, Oklahoma. Pete was also a proud grandfather to his cherished grandchildren: Madison Keyes, Jennings Keyes, Samantha Murphy, Aaron Murphy, Emmitt Jackson, Evelyn Jackson, Emerson Jackson, and Easton Jackson.

In addition to his immediate family, Pete leaves behind a host of extended family and dear friends who will miss him greatly.

Services will be announced at a later date.
