P.H. "Pete" Davis, 84, of Jonesboro, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at St. Bernards Medical Center.
Pete was a native and life-long resident of Jonesboro and spent much of his working life as a truck driver. He was of the Assembly of God faith and was preceded in death by his parents: Horner and Vera Holt Davis, and a brother, Tyre J.R. Davis.
Survivors include his devoted companion, Patsy Singleton of Jonesboro;
2 sons and daughter-in-law: Curtis and Donna Davis of Batesville and Cotton Davis of Jonesboro;
1 brother: Ted (Vickie) Davis of Bay;
5 sisters: Angeline Powell of Livonia, Michigan, Delida Clem and Tellis (Gordon) McGhee, all of Bay, Linda Edison Gilbert of Lake City and Shelia (Bill) Taylor of Jonesboro;
6 grandchildren: Amanda (Eddie) Craven of Maumelle, Matthew (Shannon) Davis, Arron (Mallory) Davis and Jessica Davis all of Jonesboro, Kati (Blaine) Hall of Bono, and Lori (Brandon) Mathis of Batesville; and
4 great grandchildren: Kinzley Hall, Briar Pratt, Dylan Craven and Reese Craven.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Dwain Borden and Kerry Snyder officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Log Cemetery. Visitation will be 12:30 until service time Friday. It was Pete's request that no one attending the service "dress up." Casual dress is preferred.
Active pallbearers include Matthew Davis, Arron Davis, Scott Ruthven, Rob Hanson, Charlie Emerson and Virgil Rhodes. Honorary pallbearers include Kerry Snyder, Bill Hampton, Dwain Borden, Joey Gage, Roger Johnson, Tyler Copeland, Brandson Foster, Billy Wooten and Steve Heath.
