Perry Tim Isbell Sr. died Sunday, October 1, 2023. He is survived by his wife, Joyce, of the home, three children, his daughter, Terry Isbell, of Ridgetop, Tennessee; his son, Perry Tim Isbell Jr, (wife, Deana) of McKinney Texas; and daughter, Tammi Isbell Goodrich (husband Derick), of Bono. He is also survived by six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Grandchildren include: Timothy Daris Isbell of Kingston, New York; Brennan Perry (wife, Emily) Isbell of Atlanta, Georgia; Anna Rose Isbell of Fort Worth, Texas; Lily Isbell of Austin, Texas; Ian Goodrich of Little Rock; and Mia Goodrich of Bono. Great grandchildren are Miriam Isbell and Perry Isbell of Atlanta. He is also survived by his brother, Dr. Thomas Isbell, DDS., (wife, Jan) of Mountain View, Arkansas; and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Perry was born in Hergett, Arkansas and grew up in Bay. After graduating from Bay High School, he graduated from Arkansas State College with a degree in Engineering and moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana to pursue his Masters and Doctorate degrees. After graduation, he and his family moved to Memphis, Tennessee, where he worked as a design engineer for International Harvester. During his years at Harvester, he designed and patented many farm implements and designs. After his years at International Harvester, Perry owned and operated Craft Elevator Company in Memphis. After returning to Jonesboro, he worked as a professor in the Engineering Department at Arkansas State University. Perry spent 22 years at ASU educating and impacting the lives of his students.
