Perry Dewitt Hope Jr (Pedy, Pete), 51, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, the 16th of April, 2016 at St Bernard's Hospice in Jonesboro, after a very brief battle with cancer.

Church officiating.A private burial will be at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery, with Emerson Funeral Home handling arrangements. Honorary pallbearers are his nieces and nephews.
Pedy was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to Perry D. Hope and Barbara Anne Chalfant on August 20, 1964 (his father's birthday). He completed high school at Piggott and graduated in 1982. He had
worked for a number of truck companies as an 'over-the-road' driver for a good number of years, earning status at each as one of their 'go-to' drivers when an urgent 'on-time' delivery
was crucial. He enjoyed life and had developed numerous friends in many states. He was loving, considerate, compassionate, and extensively generous at times with people in need. He frequently sent his mother spectacular scenes of nature as seen from the cab of his truck, having travelled in all 48 contiguous states.
Pedy is survived by his parents, Perry and Barbara Hope of the home, two sisters, Lesli Anne Penny (Steve) of Jonesboro and Melissa Lynne Capshaw (Mike) of Wylie, Texas, a brother, Charles A. (Chuck) Hope (Stephanie) of Richmond, Virginia, and nine nieces and nephews.
The family wants to thank all the doctors, nurses and medical staff at St. Bernard's Regional Hospital and Hospice for their kind and loving care and attention to his needs, and also desires that any memorial donations be sent to either First United Methodist Church in Jonesboro, or to St. Bernard's Hospice in Jonesboro.
