Penny Nichols Stotts, 39, of Bay died Sunday night after a battle with cancer at the NEA Baptist Hospital with her family and friends at her side.
Penny was born January 31, 1972 to Landa and Glenda Nichols of Jonesboro. She has lived all her life in the Bay area. She was a member of the Needham Baptist Church. She has worked for the Public Defender’s office for the past 10 years serving the community. She loved to help in charity work with organizations like, St Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Her world evolved around her sons’ lives, where she was also involved in the Bay Public School System. Those that were privileged to know Penny, say that she was the most loyal, hardworking, kind person they knew. Even during her battle with cancer her beautiful smile never faded, and will never be forgotten.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, George Hansen; paternal grandparents, RL and Iva Lee Nichols.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Stotts and three sons, Hunter and Cade Percell, and Evan Stotts all of the home; loving parents, Landa and Glenda Nichols of Jonesboro; two brothers, Brandon Nichols and his wife Amanda of Fayetteville, and Zack Nichols and wife Terra of Jonesboro; maternal grandmother, Lazelle Hansen; two nieces, Avery and Sloane; three nephews, Cohen, Garrett, and Connor; in-laws, Bob and Bonnie Stotts of Trumann; a sister-in-law, Jay and Kim Haag of Harrisburg; and a host of other family and friends.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Donnie Rogers, Chad Nichols, JJ Morgan, Brandon Fuller, Paul Horner, and Bryan Dickens.
Honorary pallbearers Jay Haag, Mark Bennett, Mark Richie, Terry and Dennis Nichols, Daniel West, and Adam Farley.
Funeral Service will be at 10a.m. on Thursday in the Emerson Memorial Chapel with Bro. Steve Bricker and Daniel Russell officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5-7p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home.
