Penny Johnson, 81, of Jonesboro, Arkansas passed away on August 13, 2026. She was born January 27, 1945 in Leachville, Arkansas, to the late Noah and Virgie (Allen) Kisner. She was married for 26 years to her husband Tommy Johnson of Jonesboro, Arkansas.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her late husband Jerry Taylor, sisters; “Kaye” Rodgers, Imogene Koch, and Virginia Austin, brothers; Noah Kisner Jr, John R. Kisner, Franklin D. Kisner and Charles H. Kisner.

She is survived by her husband, Tommy Johnson of Jonesboro; sons, Wesley Taylor of Little Rock and Billy Johnson; a daughter, Tammy Sandborn; a sister Charlotte Marlow, and a brother, Eric Kisner; three grandchildren, Noah Taylor, Andon Taylor, Jayden Johnson; two great-grandchildren, Korban Taylor and Alaina Taylor.

Penny was a graduate of Leachville Arkansas High School and later graduated from Lubbock Christian College in Lubbock, Texas.

Penny worked at Southwestern Bell Publications in their directory publishing operations. The company later became SBC Communications and the directory operations formed the Southwestern Bell Yellow Pages, where she continued until she retired after over 30 years of service.

Penny was a Christian, a loving wife, and a mother totally dedicated to her family and others. She was a member of the Valley View Church of Christ in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at 10 a.m. at McDaniel Cemetery, with Gary Shavers officiating.
