Penny Jane Gibson

Penny Gibson, 45, of Jonesboro died August 31, 2013 in Baxter County.

Penny was born January 30, 1968 in Memphis, TN to Larry Hamblen and Virginia Cooksey Hamblen. She lived in Jonesboro for the last 21 years, and worked as a carrier for the United States Postal Service. She was an outstanding mother and loved everyone she met. Her caring ways will be missed by all that knew her.

She is survived by her daughter, Jodie Gibson and son, Luke Gibson, both of Jonesboro; father, Larry Hamblen of Marked Tree; mother, Virginia Breckle; one brother, Dan Hamblen both of Payneway; and one sister, Debbie Shelton (Johnny Mac) of Jonesboro.

Funeral service will be Friday afternoon at 2pm in the Emerson Memorial Chapel with Dr. Johnny Hutchison officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.

Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5-7pm at Emerson Funeral Home. Paul-bearers will be Charles Gibson, Joshua Brown, Kendall Shelton, Levi Gibson, Johnny Mac Shelton, and Troy Lairson.

The family asks that instead of flower arrangements, donations for her children would be greatly appreciated. A trust fund has been opened for Jodie and Luke at First National Bank in Jonesboro.
