Peggy Lynn Nail Bowden, 71, of Jonesboro, died Thursday, February 23, 2012, at her daughter’s home in Jonesboro.
Born in Pemiscot County, Missouri, Peggy has lived in Jonesboro for 46 years. She worked several years as an ophthalmic assistant and was a member of St. Timothy’s Anglican Church where she was active in the choir.
Peggy was a long-time member of the Jonesboro Country Club Ladies Golf Association and enjoyed bowling and traveling. She was preceded in death by her parents: Clifford and Reva Alexander Nail, and by two brothers: Clarence Edward “Doodle” Nail and Charles Nail.
Survivors include her husband, Paul Bowden of the home; 2 daughters and their husbands: Adele and Terry Barnett, and Amber and Robert McClellan, all of Jonesboro; 5 grandchildren: Danyelle Hutton, Adriane Duke, Lauren Schwarz, Michael Schwarz and Alexander “Alex” Barnett, all of Jonesboro; and 2 great granddaughters: Gwendolyn Hutton and Magdalene Hutton, both of Jonesboro.
A memorial service will be held Monday morning at 11:00 in St. Timothy Anglican Church, 419 W. Highland Dr., Jonesboro, with Rev. Ron Martin officiating. Burial will be private.
Visitation will be held Sunday evening, 5-7, at Emerson Funeral Home.
