Peggy Jo’ann Snider, 74, of Jonesboro, died Thursday, October 4, 2012, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.
Born in Humphrey, Arkansas, Peggy grew up in Carlisle, Arkansas, and had lived in Jonesboro for 44 years.
Along with being a retired food service manager with Jonesboro Public Schools, she was a retired church pianist and organist from both North Main Baptist and Magnolia Road Baptist Churches in Jonesboro.
Peggy was preceded in death by both her parents, Thurman W. and Dollie Belle Loftis; a brother, Royce D. Loftis; a son, Bobby Lance Snider; and a granddaughter, Michelle Brooke Meredith.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Bob Snider; two sons, Brad Snider and Butch Snider; two daughters, Phyllis Meredith and Robin Snider, all of Jonesboro. Surviving grandchildren include 9 grandsons: Brandon Meredith, Winn Meredith, Andy Snider, Tate Snider, Chase Holeman, Alex Holeman, and Baylee Snider, all of Jonesboro, Reed Snider of Jacksonville, and Brooks Snider of Fort Smith; and 4 granddaughters: Morgan Brown, Farrah Snider, and Hallie Allen, all of Jonesboro, and Katie Snider of Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Bobby Crabb officiating. A committal service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Carlisle Cemetery.
Active pallbearers include Greg and Brock Loftis, and grandsons.
Visitation will be held Friday evening, 5-7, at Emerson Funeral Home.
