Peggy Byrd Hogue

Peggy Byrd Hogue, 87, of Bay, Arkansas passed from this life Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital. She was born September 8, 1935 in Dalton to Lee Ora and Hazel Jackson Sullinger.

Peggy lived in Bay most of her life and was a member of the Bay Church of Christ. She enjoyed traveling with her friends when she was able, all things country music, and attending Ladies’ Days at church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Hogue; parents, Lee Ora and Wilma Lorrell Sullinger; her birth mother, Hazel Jackson Sullinger and a brother, Wilford Sullinger.

Survivors include her two sons, Donny “Skip” Hogue (Linda) of Jonesboro and Billy “Corky” Hogue (Gina) of Bay; brothers, Larry Sullinger of Pocahontas and Ronnie Sullinger of Spring Branch, Texas; grandson, Adam (Jessica) Hogue as well as great-grandchildren, William Henry Hogue and Harris Elizabeth Hogue all of Batesville.

A visitation will be held Saturday, April 15, 2023 from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. at Emerson Funeral Home.

Funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 10:30 a.m. with Mark Spencer officiating. Burial will follow at Nettleton Cemetery. Family and friends will be serving as pallbearers.
