Peggy Joy Chapman

Peggy Joy Chapman, 90, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at NEA Baptist Hospital. She was born to the late Thomas Lloyd Williamson and Opal Nanette Martin on August 4, 1933 in Texas.

Peggy was a devoted wife to her beloved husband of 70 years, ACCM (AW) Donald L Chapman USN Retired, who passed away just two days prior to her own passing. Together, they created a lifetime of beautiful memories. Peggy found great delight in the simple pleasures of life, often spending her days engrossed in jigsaw puzzles, engaging in card games, and immersing herself in the pages of a good book. However, her most treasured moments were those spent playing bridge with her dearly beloved husband.

In her journey through life, Peggy faced the heartache of bidding farewell to her daughter, Carrie Sue Chapman, and brother Thomas Lloyd Williamson Jr.

Peggy leaves behind a legacy of love and strength, survived by her devoted son, Donald Chapman Jr. and his wife Christine, residing in Virginia Beach, Virginia; her daughter, Jennifer Stipech and her husband Ken, residing in Florida; and her dear sister, Ann Williamson, residing in California. Peggy's presence will forever be felt through the lives of her grandchildren, Tracy Chapman, Kelly Chapman, and Matthew Stipech, as well as her great-grandchild Russell Gilchrest.
