Harold Payton Hatchcock Jr., 43, of Jonesboro passed away on Monday, August 4, 2014 at NEA Baptist Hospital.
Payton was born in Wynne on October 17, 1970 to Harold and Brenda Hathcock. He was a graduate of Wynne High School, and was a member of the 1986 State Championship Football Team. He became an Eagle Scout by the age of 15. His hobbies included watching Razorback football and racing, and he loved golfing and grilling. He loved to be with his family, friends, and church family at The Rock of NEA. He enjoyed going out in his yard and working, and he would occasionally race his kids to show them he was still faster than they were. His love and passion for life will be missed but never forgotten.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mancel and Gladys Hathcock and Herman and Vivian Partain.
He is survived by his loving wife, Tina Hathcock; one daughter; Pagon Hathcock both of Jonesboro; two sons, Dylan and Brayden Hathcock of Little Rock; two step daughters, Ashtin Burgess of Pocahontas and Breanna Skimahorn; one step son, Caleb Rosamund parents, Harold and Brenda Hathcock; one sister, Kimberly Hatchcock all of Wynne; two grandchildren, Laken Hathcock and Rylee Burgess; and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral service will be 10am Thursday morning in the Emerson Memorial Chapel with Pastor Terry Watson officiating. A graveside service will be at 1pm at Crosslawn Cemetery in Wynne with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at Emerson Funeral Home. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Richard Bruno, Monty Kays, Carl Regis, Kyle Bullock, Jeff Duvall, Don O'Shields, Greg Andrews, and Bruce Mize.
