Pauline D. Stewart Swinney, 85, of Jonesboro, passed from this life on Thursday, August 20, 2020, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.
Born in the Noland community southwest of Pocahontas, Pauline lived in Pocahontas before moving to Jonesboro in 1969. She had a career being self-employed and attended Walnut Street Baptist Church for many years before her health began to fail. Pauline enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, word search books, puzzles and watching the St. Louis Cardinals baseball. She was preceded in death by her parents: Arthur and Stella Williams Meeks; 3 brothers: Darvin, Eugene and Doyle Meeks; and a grandson, Brock Stewart.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law: Gary and Kristie Stewart of Jonesboro;
one daughter and son-in-law: Tina and Greg Taylor of Benton;
two brothers and sisters-in-law: J.C. and Jinkie Meeks of Doniphan, Missouri, and Larry and Manna Meeks of Pocahontas;
two sisters and brother-in-law: Nona and Tom Hargis of Mountain Home, and Geneva Leathers of Pocahontas;
three grandchildren: Tisha Stewart, Amanda Nixon and Katrina Sprinkle; and
two great grandchildren: Landon Allen and Layla Allen.
A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Monday at Emerson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be private.
For lasting memorials, the family asks that consideration be given to the American Cancer Society.
