Pauline J. Banty, 95, of Jonesboro, died Monday, October 24, 2011, at St. Bernards Medical Center.
Born in Booneville, Mississippi, Pauline lived several years in Chicago and California before returning to Jonesboro in 1975. Pauline retired from Corn Products Company in Chicago where she worked several years as a switchboard operator.
She was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church and enjoyed working in her yard and flower garden. Pauline’s family wishes to express deepest gratitude to her cargivers, Patti Martin and Norma Ferrell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Avery Mae Moore Doty; a daughter, JoAnn Ellison; a brother, Raymond Doty; and by sisters Estalee Broughton and Earlene Belfeld.
Survivors include one son, Donald Ellison (Anita) of Jonesboro;
3 granddaughters: Donna Drury (Dan) of North Little Rock, Diane Fletcher (Trent) of Jonesboro, and Susan White (Bryan) of Fayetteville;
7 great grandchildren, 4 great, great grandchildren, and 1 brother, O.V. Doty of Brookland.
Graveside funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:00 at Jonesboro Memorial Park with Rev. Nan Nelson officiating with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be private.
