Paula Kay Asher, 71, of Jonesboro passed from this life Sunday, May 16, 2021 at St. Bernards Medical Center. She was born to the late Floyd and Inez Bonham on January 28, 1950 in Jonesboro. She lived her early years in Jonesboro and was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church. Paula graduated from Arkansas State University where she received her bachelors degree. She moved to Missouri where she met her husband and served the community as an elementary teacher. The family decided to return to her home town where she continued her working career at Southwestern Bell. Paula is preceded in death by her parents. Paula is survived by her husband of 46 years, Louie Asher, of the home; two sons, Gregg Asher and partner, David Martin, of Dallas, TX and Marcus Asher and wife, Allison, of Black Rock, AR; and sister, Sandi Johnston and husband, Buddy, of Jonesboro. A visitation will be from 5 -7 p.m. Thursday, May 20, 2021 at Emerson Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 21, 2021 at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Brother Alan Johnston officiating. Active pallbearers include: Allen Asher, Matt Asher, Buddy Johnston, Marcus Asher, Greg Asher, and Allison Asher.
