Harold Paul Hunt, 71, was taken home to be with his Lord on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017, at his earthly home in Brookland. Born March 31, 1945, in Harrisburg, he was the son of Wayne and Mildred Hunt.
A longtime employee of Brookland Public Schools, he worked in maintenance and drove a school bus. He also enjoyed working at Arkansas State University athletic events until his health prevented it.
Nicknamed BooBoo by his grandchildren, family time was precious time for him. He was a member of Needham Baptist Church and a previous member of First Baptist Church in Harrisburg.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother and his grandparents.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Carol Grimes Hunt, whom he married Dec. 7, 1974, at Needham Baptist Church; two sons, Jason Hunt and Anthony Hunt; a daughter, Beth Hunt Osborne; two daughters-in-law, Gretchen Hunt and Amanda Hunt; and a son-in-law, Greg Osborne. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Conley Hunt, Anna Osborne, Colter Hunt and Jack Osborne; a brother, Johnny Hunt, and a sister, Shirley Hunt Volner, both of Harrisburg; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. at Pine Log Cemetery in Brookland under the direction of Emerson Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. in the Emerson chapel.
Pallbearers are Brian Gibbs, Brian Roedel, Billy Whitted, Greg Creech, Joel Grimes and Larry Mills.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
