Paul H. Doty

Paul H. Doty, 91, of Jonesboro, died Friday, June 26, 2015, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. He was born in Otwell to Elmer L. Doty Sr. and Dora Kifer Doty. Paul and his wife, Helen lived in Walnut Ridge for over 50 years, moving to Jonesboro in 1998. Paul was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Jonesboro and the First United Methodist Church of Walnut Ridge.

Paul was a retired farmer and was a founding member of the Northeast Arkansas Seed Company. He served on the Board of Directors of First National Bank of Lawrence County, Lawrence County Memorial Hospital, Tuckerman Grain Dryer, City Water Works of Walnut Ridge, First United Methodist Church of Walnut Ridge, Farm Service of Walnut Ridge and many other organizations. Paul was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Helen Phillips Doty; parents, two brothers, Elmer L. Doty Jr. and Boyd Doty.

Survivors include his son, Paul Doty Jr. of Jonesboro; daughter, Susan Dudley of Franklin, Tennessee; brother, Robert Doty of Memphis; four grandchildren, Emily (Heath) Richey and J. Paul Doty of Walnut Ridge; Sara (Will) Campbell of Nashville; Claire (Robert) Matthews of Brentwood, Tennessee and six great grandchildren, Emma and Riley Richey of Walnut Ridge; Graham and Eva Matthews of Brentwood, Tennessee; Lillian and Paul Campbell of Nashville, Tennessee.

A visitation will be held from 12:30 until 2:00 on Monday, June 29, 2015 at Emerson Memorial Chapel. Burial will be private under the Direction of Emerson Funeral Home.
