Dear God:
When I think about my beloved wife, best friend and life’s partner and how she would want to be remembered there is a story that you have given us in your word. The story is found in Luke chapter 7. John called two of his disciples in ask them to go to Jesus and ask Him if He was the Expected One, or do we need to look for someone else? And you Lord, did not answer with one of Your “I Am” statements; “I am the bread of life," “I am the light of the world," “I am the door of the sheep," “I am the Good Shepherd," “I am the way, the truth, the life," “I am the true vine," no, none of those Lord. You said, “Go and report to John what you have seen and heard; the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them. Blessed is he who does not take offense at me.” Father, thank you for giving me a helpmate who lived like this. Who never pointed attention at herself! Who was always more concerned about the well being of others over her own! Who made those around her better, including me! God, as much as it hurts, I willingly give her back to you, because now You have someone who was just like you here on earth! Thank you God! Signed: Dr. Bill – Patti’s husband
