Patsy Joann Swanner, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on August 30, 2026 at the age of 88.

Patsy was born Patsy Joann Carter on January 15, 1938, in Alicia, Arkansas, to Ruth and James Carter. She retired from Thomas & Betts and DuPont.

Pat had a love for people and especially enjoyed caring for her family and others. She loved to laugh and joke around and enjoyed fishing, baking, and working in her yard. She also generously supported St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Pauline Crain, Louise Crain, Bruce Carter, and Laverne Carter as well as a granddaughter, Stephanie Griffin.

She is survived by her half-siblings, David Carter, Mary Carter, Michael Carter, and Tim Carter; her daughters, Donna Slaughter and Connie Laswell; her grandchildren, Michael Jones, Jennifer Sterley, Ben Griffin, Destiny Slaughter, and Carissa Slaughter; and seven great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Patsy's name.

A private graveside service will be held at Keller's Chapel Cemetery.
