Patsy Ruth Phillips

Patsy Ruth Gazaway Phillips, 91, of Jonesboro, Arkansas was welcomed into the kingdom of Heaven Wednesday, June 17, 2026. Pat was born in Delaplaine, Arkansas, to the late Boyd and Alma Gazaway on March 16, 1935.

She loved her family, gardening, keeping a diary, playing cards with her church friends, and meeting with her school friends. She enjoyed serving at Silverdale Baptist Church and Highland Drive Baptist Church.

Pat is survived by her two sons, Dr. John (Theresa) Phillips and Dr. David (Sharon) Phillips, and her two brothers, Moud (Sharon) Gazaway and Jerry Gazaway. She also leaves behind three grandchildren, Dr. Matthew (Summer) Phillips, Michelle (Tanner) Ringo, and Jonathan Phillips, and a great-grandson, Carter Phillips.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth B. Phillips; and one sister, Lervine Hardy.

A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 22, at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Brother Johnny Hutchison officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. A private interment will follow and she will be laid to rest at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial contribution to the Christian ministry of your choice.
