Patsy R. Newberry

Patsy R. Newberry, 81, of Jonesboro, died Friday, April 17, 2015 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. She has lived in Jonesboro since 1962. She was a member of the Southside Apostolic Pentecost Church. Patsy had retired from Coca-Cola Bottling of Northeast Arkansas. She was preceded in death by one son, her parents, one sister and three brothers.

Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Virgil Newberry Jr., of the home; son, John “Buddy” Richards (Rosemary) of Trumann; daughter, Carolyn Pankey of Jonesboro; brothers, Larry Gandy of Jonesboro; Jack Gandy, and David “Pete” Gandy both of Harrisburg; sisters, Minnie Peaster of Lake City, Francis Gandy and Velma Barber of Jonesboro; Geneva Clem of Texas; 6 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at the Emerson Memorial Chapel with George Ezell officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will be at Herman Cemetery with Ronnie Gosha, Tommy Stark, T. J. Stark, John Owens, Mike Newberry, and Larry Newberry serving as pallbearers. Butch Adams will serve as an honorary pallbearer. Visitation will be from 5-7 Monday night at Emerson Funeral Home.
