Patsa Sue Caldwell Ragsdale, 85, of Jonesboro, passed from this life on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.

Patsa was born in Black Oak and lived most of her life in the Lake City area before moving to Jonesboro in 2014. She was a 1957 graduate of Lake City High School and owned and operated the Ragsdale Grocery Store in Lake City with her husband. She retired as a Craighead County Circuit Court Deputy Clerk.

Patsa was a member of Nettleton Baptist Church and the Faithful Followers Sunday School Class. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens and taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her biggest joy came from cooking and hosting meals in her home for her family and close friends. Patsa was a proud member of the Lake City High School Catfish Class of 1957.

Patsa lived her life guided by faith in God and faith in the inherent goodness in the people around her.  Patsa was preceded in death by her parents, Radie H. and Mary Ellen Thomas Caldwell, husband Ronald Ragsdale,

4 brothers: Hershell "Snooks" Caldwell, Billy "Bid" Caldwell, Gerald Caldwell and Jerry Caldwell, and a granddaughter Jennifer Davenport.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Mary Etta (Bret) Qualls of Conway, and Donna (Jeff) McMillin of Jonesboro;

1 son, Mark DeWitt of Cherokee Village;

4 grandchildren and their spouses: Janna Salter, Steven (Stephanie) DeWitt, Michael (Jen) DeWitt and Shayna (Josh) Wright; and

7 great grandchildren: Maggie, Emma, Adalee, Annalyn, Radie, Mack and Parker.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 6,  at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Ron Langston and Rev. Jimmy Flynn officiating. Burial will follow in Monette Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will precede the funeral service from 9:30-10:30 in the chapel.

Active pallbearers include Steven DeWitt, Michael DeWitt, Josh Wright, Mark Bunch, Bryan Caldwell and Kenny Qualls. Honorary pallbearers include Stan McMillin, Dale Miller, Danny Strickland, the Lake City High School Class of 1957 and members of the Nettleton Baptist Church Faithful Followers Sunday School Class.
