Patricia "Trishy" Ellen Sumpter

Patricia Ellen “Trishy” Sumpter, 71, passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2019, in Jonesboro, due to complications from advanced stage ovarian cancer. She was born November 7, 1947, to the late Robert B. Cole, Sr. and Mary Jane Johnson Cole.

She is survived by her loving husband, Aubrey Sumpter of Jonesboro; her son and daughter-in-law Dru and Sharon Davison and grandchildren Cole, Katie, and Ella of Bartlett, TN; grandson Cody Davison of Bono, AR; stepson Jon and Kristin Sumpter of Rogers, AR; stepdaughter Audra and Dennis Messick and grandson Douglas of Mountain Home, AR; her sister Melba Jane Cole of Jonesboro, AR; and brother Michael Cole of Floral City, FL, and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her son, Chad Barrett Davison, and her brothers Patrick Cole, Robert B. Cole Jr., and Carl Cole.

She loved to fish, spending hours reeling in trout on the White River and catching halibut and salmon in Alaska. She also enjoyed traveling in her Roadtrack [sic] across the US and Canada, and lived in Germany for three treasured years.  Some of her bucket list items she checked off include seeing the space shuttle launch and seeing the northern lights in Alaska at Chena Springs. She visited Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons, the Grand Canyon and Mount Rushmore, and attempted to see every single lighthouse on the east coast. She enjoyed covered bridges, and many adventures were enjoyed touring the U.S. looking for these scenic treasures.

Visitation is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Friday, March 1, ^, 2019, at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Graveside services to follow at 3 p.m. at Jonesboro Memorial Park. Services will be officiated by Larry Bailey of Central Baptist Church, where she was a long time member.  Pallbearers include Dru Davison, Cody Davison, Cole Davison, Jon Sumpter, Nathan Bratten, and Paul Davison.
