Patricia Ann Hallmark, age 80, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, passed away on Sunday, December 20th, 2020 and left behind a legacy. She was born on December 5th, 1940 to the late Clifford and Gussie Barker in Promised Land Township, Arkansas. She was the matriarch of the Hallmark family and truly a mother to many.
Patricia graduated from McCormick High School and worked as the Classified Ad Manager at the Jonesboro Sun newspaper for over 40 years exemplifying an impeccable work ethic. On June 17th, 1961 she married Jesse Dewane Hallmark and they joyfully had three children - Derry, Allison, and Heather. She dedicated her entire life to being an outstanding mother and grandmother. She played a pivotal role in helping shape the lives of her adored grandchildren, who fondly referred to her as "Nana". She provided them with loving kindness and deep wisdom that they will carry with them in their future endeavors.
Patricia excelled at supporting her family through their triumphs and tribulations and made it her overall mission to help anyone in need. In addition to dedicating her life to her family, she spent much of her time helping others in the community, many of which she barely knew. Her family will cherish her southern cooking and miss gathering around her at the dinner table. She was fond of Billy Graham's preaching, singing the hymn "Amazing Grace", bobbing her head to the song "I Can See Clearly Now" by Jimmy Cliff, watching Jean-Luc Picard on Star Trek, and listening to CCR.
Patricia was predeceased by her husband Jesse Dewayne Hallmark and her brother Terry Barker. She is survived by her son, Derry Hallmark; her daughters and their spouses Allison and Dale King, Heather and Rob Wickler; and her grandchildren Brittany Hallmark, Matthew King, Bailey Jones, Paige King, Junuh Hallmark, Arianna Hallmark, Ezella Hallmark, and Autumn Wickler.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Worley Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to The Jonesboro Jaycees or the Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas. Lasting memorials may be sent to the Worley Cemetery. She will be greatly missed but her spirit of loving and kindness will remain with us all.
