Patricia Jane Benton

Patricia Jane Benton, 83, of Paragould, formerly of Trumann, passed away on March 25, 2024. She was born on March 17, 1941 in Fort Smith to Ralph W. Tapp and Lola Elizabeth Barrett Tapp.

Pat called Northeast Arkansas home since 1957 and was a faithful member of Grace United Baptist Church in Paragould. Pat loved crafting, card games with friends, and playing bingo. She also loved dancing, especially line dancing. She enjoyed holidays, particularly Christmas, and was famous for her banana pudding and deviled eggs. Pat cherished time spent with her family but above all else, she loved God. She lived life to the fullest and will be deeply missed by all who loved and knew her.

In addition to her parents, Pat is preceded in death by her husband, J.N. Benton, who she married on October 17, 1982.

Pat is survived by her son, Kelly Dewan (Tracy) Morgan of Trumann; daughters, Kim (Marty) McDaniel of Paragould, Kay Morgan of Trumann, Karen (John) Nevill of Queen City, Texas; stepson, Farrell Benton of Jonesboro; sister, Vicki (John) Vinyard of Marshfield, Missouri; 9 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and 2 nephews.

A visitation will be held at Emerson Memorial Chapel on Friday, March 29, 2024 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Kenneth Guy McMahan officiating.
