Pastor Leonard Eugene Hensley

Pastor Leonard Eugene Hensley, 71, of Jonesboro, went to be with the Lord on January 18, 2012 at St Bernard’s Medical Center. He was born in Monette and had lived in Jonesboro most of his life. He was a retired machinist for 35 years from Colson and a member of the General Baptist Church in Sedgwick.

He was a minister of the Lord, and pastured the Evergreen General Baptist Church in Sedgwick for 10 years. His life was dedicated to his family and friends. Leonard was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing with his kids and grandkids.

As a husband, father and grandfather he leaves behind a lot of wonderful memories that will bless our hearts forever.

He was preceded in death by his parents, A.D. and Pearl Brown Hensley, 5 brothers and 5 sisters.

Survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Margaret Hensley of the home.

3 sons, Larry Hensley (Cheryl) of Hot Springs, Lin Hensley (Kelley) of Pocahontas and Daron Hensley of Jonesboro.

Daughter, Annette Hensley of Jonesboro.

10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday January 21, 2012 at Emerson Memorial Chapel, with Reverend’s Jerry Thompson and Marion Stringer officiating.

Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.

Active pallbearers will be Derick Jarrett, Daron Hensley, Brenon Hensley, Bryson Hensley, Cody Hensley, Caden Wilson and Brent Hensley.

Honorary pallbearers will be Devan Hensley, Joey Troutman and Tim Walker.

Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M. Friday January 20, in Emerson Memorial Chapel.
