Pansy Gross

April 24, 1925 — December 12, 2020

Pansy Mayo Gross, 95, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.

She was born to the late Ezra and Audrey Mayo on April 24, 1925 in Pollard, Arkansas.

Pansy enjoyed living in the St. Louis area while pursuing her career.  She retired as a secretary for the Department of Defense. Pansy and her husband, Omer, were very active in the Youth Ministry program at Parker Rd Baptist Church in Florissant.  And the youth became their special “kids”.  She retired and moved to Jonesboro in 1991.  She was a member of First Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Pansy is preceded in death by her step mother, Zelma Duckworth Mayo; brother, Lester Mayo; step brothers, Dr. Hillard Duckworth and Carl Duckworth.

Pansy is survived by her brother, Bill Mayo of Piggott; and step sister, Josie Brandon of Missouri. She also leaves behind several beloved nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was held on Sunday, December 13, 2020 at New Hope Cemetery in Pollard, Arkansas.
