Pamela Purvis Green

Pamela Purvis Green, 63, of Jonesboro, passed from this life Monday, March 22, 2021 at St Bernard’s Medical Center. She was born on May 25, 1957 to Barbara D. and Charles T. Purvis. Pamela is preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Dean Purvis.

Pamela lived her whole life in Jonesboro, where she was a member of Central Baptist Church. In her youth, she was a role model to her younger sister, even if she cheated at cards and board games. She lived a life of selflessness and was committed to serving others.  Pamela was a teacher dedicated to the enrichment of her students. A former Jonesboro Teacher of the Year, she had a passion for science that was instilled into each of her students. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family and grand baby.

Pamela is survived by her husband, Rusty Green, of the home; father, Charles T. Purvis, of Jonesboro; sons, Will Green of Jonesboro, Spencer Green (Lindsey) of Jonesboro, and Ben Green of Fayetteville; daughters, Mallory Green of Jonesboro and Emily Green of Little Rock; sister, Trudy Laird (Jonathan) of Pensacola, FL; grandchild, Macklyn Green; first cousin, Jamie Purvis (Cathy) of Little Rock; nieces, Jessica Kendust and Juliann Laird; and great-nephew, Harrison Kendust.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Friday, March 26, 2021, at Central Baptist Church. A visitation will precede the service from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Burial will be at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please consider bringing a children’s book to the service to be donated to local schools.
