Owen Roland "Shug" Bonds, 81, of Jonesboro, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2017, at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro.
Born in Etta, Mississippi, Shug lived in Arlington, Tennessee before moving to Memphis where he lived until moving to Jonesboro 22 years ago. He worked several years for JT White Lumber Company and was a member of the Catholic Church.
Shug enjoyed fishing and supporting the Manning family football teams, namely the Ole Miss Rebels, New York Giants and Denver Broncos. He was preceded in death by his parents: Conley L. and Catherine Owens Bonds, and a son, Donnie Bonds.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Hughes Bonds of the home;
3 sons and their wives: David and Laura Bonds of Paragould, Eddie and Susie Bonds of
Orlando, Florida, and Chad Dennis of Jonesboro.
2 daughters and their husbands: Sherry and John Pillsbury of Rosemark, Tennessee, and Paige and Brian Woods of Jonesboro;
1 sister, Linda Kay Marshall of Memphis;
several grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
All services will be private. There will be no visitation.
