Orvil William Sullinger

Orvil W. a.k.a. William Arvil Sullinger 97, of Jonesboro died Saturday August 26, at N.E.A. Medical Center.

He was born in Ravenden Springs, AR. and had lived in Jonesboro for 31 years, moving here from Rockford, Ill.

He was a retired hardware stripper for Amerock Corporation in Rockford, Ill., and was a member of Central Baptist Church where he taught a Men’s Sunday School Class for 25 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Marion and Amanda Axshan Allison Sullinger, four brothers, Jim, Cad, Harvey, and Ora Sullinger, seven sisters, Mollie Sullinger English, Eva Sullinger, Maudie Sullinger Ballard, Julia Sullinger Clements, Meda Sullinger Waddle, Audrey Sullinger Bounds, and Ella Marie Sullinger.

Survivors include his wife: Helen Jenkins Sullinger of the home for 71years.

Two sons: Ralph Herman and his wife Estelle Sullinger of Morgantown, N.C.
William Stancil and his wife Kima Sullinger of The Woodlands, TX.

Two Daughters: Eula Sullinger Schell and Emma Sullinger both of Jonesboro

Eight Grandchildren: Connie Schell Thuston, Alan Glenn Schell, Teresa Diane Sullinger, Melanie Schell Stone, Stuart Arvil Sullinger, Adam Eugene Sullinger, Leeann Michelle Sullinger, John Markwell Sullinger.

Eight Great Grandchildren: Eric Thuston, Jacob Sullinger, Cody Veteto, Sean Thuston, Bethany Sullinger, Kady Veteto, Grace Sullinger, Emma Claire Sullinger.

Funeral service will be 3:00 P.M. Friday September 1, 2006 at the Central Baptist Church with the Revs. Jerry Muckensturn and Larry Bailey officiating. Burial will be at the Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro in charge or arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. until service time on Friday September 1, 2006 at the Central Baptist Church.

Active Pallbearers will be Alan Schell, Stuart Sullinger, Adam Sullinger, Eric Thuston, Jacob Sullinger, and John Sullinger.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Carrol Holloway’s Sunday School Class at Central Baptist Church.
