Opal Taylor Given

Opal Taylor Given of Lake City passed away Saturday at the age of 101. She was born in Piggott but had lived most of her life in Lake City. She loved to sew and crochet and especially loved puppies, kittens and children. She was a member of Lake City Church of Christ.

She is survived by her son, Vachel “Junior” Taylor, Flint, Michigan; daughters, Dorthy Madison, Long Beach, California, Audrey Miller, Lake City; sister, Cleo Heath, Paragould; 13 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Vachel Taylor and Charlie Given; son, James Taylor; brothers, Oral Fortner and Clyde Fortner.

Visitation will be Sunday 1:00 -3:00 p.m. at Lake City Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Macey Cemetery with David Gibson officiating. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
