Opal M George, 95, of Jonesboro, passed from this life on May 26, 2022 at The Springs of Jonesboro. Opal was born in Athens, AL on July 22, 1926 to the late Lucy and John Adams. In addition to her parents, Opal is preceded in death by her husband Ottis George; and 8 brothers and sisters.

Opal lived in Jonesboro for 32 years and was a member of Valley Ridge Baptist Church. She thoroughly enjoyed reading, crocheting, and fishing. Most importantly, Opal cherished her family time. She loved her kids, grandkids, and all of her family.

Opal is survived by her sons, Terry W. George (Patsy) of Jonesboro and Don George (Kim) of Nixa, MO; grandchildren, Ami Cross (Alan) of Kenosha, WI, Eric George (Shelly) of Battlefield, MO, Bryan George (Jenn) of Portland, OR, Christopher George (Jamie) of Bay, Kelly Pierce of Dyersburg, TN, and Melissa Bodeker (Adam) of Jonesboro; 14 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Emerson Funeral Home. A visitation will precede the service from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Burial will be at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.
