Olive Geneva Courville,90, of Jonesboro formerly of Chicago, departed this life on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born June 9, 1932 in Hazard, KY to the late Curtis and Pearlie Napier.
She always enjoyed singing, sewing and making plastic canvas, if you ever went to her house you left with a plastic canvas rose box. Olive loved spending time with her kids and grandkids, especially her dogs. She was a Christian who loved God and sought his will to serve and honor him. Olive would often speak of the many ways God has influenced and guided her life. Olive’s life always revolved around her family, dogs, and God.
In addition to her parents Olive is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Stanley Courville; one son, Joe Courville; two brothers, Curtis Napier Jr, Orville Napier; one sister, Lois Heath.
Olive is survived by; three sons, Paul (Lisa) Courville of Greenwood, IN, Michael (Teri) Courville of Jonesboro, Kenny Courville of Jonesboro; four daughters, Lanore Hensley of Bay, Linda (Dean) Richardson of Jonesboro, Cindy (John) Petty of Jonesboro, Carol (Terry) Mayfield of Jonesboro; one daughter-in-law, Laura Courville of Arizona; one brother, Paul (Kimleng) Napier of California; 25 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a lifetime of family and friends.
Friends may visit at Emerson Memorial Chapel, Tuesday, July 19, 2022, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Funeral services will follow at 10:00 a.m.
