Oleva Bernice Bailey

Bernice Bailey, 73, of Jonesboro, died Tuesday, September 14, 2010, at NEA Baptist Hospital.

Born in Wiseman, Bernice has lived in Jonesboro since 1954. She worked several years for G.E. and DuPont in Jonesboro. Bernice was a member of Valley View Church of Christ and was active in T.O.P.S. for many years. She enjoyed crocheting and collecting Barbie dolls. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clermon and Sadie Martin Hill, and by two brothers, Edward Hill and L.C. Hill.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Donald P. Bailey, of the home;

1 son, David Bailey and Vickie Carroll of Jonesboro;

2 daughters, Paula Morgan of Jonesboro and Kathy Bailey of Denver, Colorado;

1 aunt, Bessie Roberts of Jonesboro;

6 grandchildren: Phillip Bailey, Daniel Bailey, Hunter Morgan, Heath Morgan, Kyle Bailey-Sutton and Collin Council.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:00 in Valley View Church of Christ with David Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in McDaniel Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers include: Daniel Bailey, Hunter Morgan, Heath Morgan, Stephen Bristow, Blake Bristow and Mike Bristow.

Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5-7 at Emerson Funeral Home.
