Ocie Tate

October 9, 1930 — January 6, 2014

Ocie Tate, 83, of Jonesboro, died Monday night, January 6, 2014 at St. Elizabeth’s Place. She had lived in Jonesboro since the 1950s moving here from the Bono area. Ocie was a member of the North Main Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her parents, Neeley and Minnie Smith; brothers, Hubert Smith, Charley Smith, Elvis Smith and Earl Smith.

Survivors include her sons, Curtis Tate (Ako) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Eddie
Tate of Springfield, Missouri; daughters, Janice Tate of Jonesboro; Renee Ivy (Buddy) of Brookland; Debbie Maple of O’Kean; brother, Jerry Smith of Bono; sister Imo Jean Lacer (Phil) of Thompson Falls, Montana; 16 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 2:30 Friday, January 10, 2014 at Trinity Cemetery near Bono with Bro. Jeff Watson officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers and grandsons will be honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be from 12:30 – 2:00 Friday at Emerson Funeral Home.
