Norman Ray Jennings

Norman Ray Jennings passed away on October 9, 2025, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital. He was born on January 30, 1949, to James and Syble Jennings.

Norman enjoyed attending Brookland Church of Christ and worked as a contractor for many years. Outside of work, he loved spending time outdoors, fishing for crappie in the summer and catfish in the winter, and hunting, especially for turkey. He was also a devoted hobby farmer who enjoyed working with cattle and horses.

Norman was the kind of man who made a lasting impression on everyone he met. He could make friends with anyone, and his easygoing nature drew people in wherever he went. He loved being out on the lake, but his greatest joy came from time spent with his family. Every Sunday night, he looked forward to gathering with them for supper and conversation.

Norman is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, William and Paul Jennings.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Cynthia Jennings; daughters, Angela (Blake) Goad and Audrey (Brad) King; brother, Bill Jennings; sisters, Charlene (Jimmy) Griffin and Betty Simpson; and his beloved grandson, Eli King.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025 at Emerson Funeral Home, from 9:30 a.m. until the start of the service at 10:30 a.m., with Jeff Heiman officiating. Burial will follow at Rutherford Cemetery. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Kevin Griffin, Jimmy Griffin, Greg Jennings, Derick Goodrich, Rick Metcalf, and Jerry Russell.
