Norma Racine Walker

June 8, 1930 — March 28, 2017

Norma Racine Walker, 86, of Jonesboro passed from this life Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. She was born to the late Samuel and Cora Mullins in Jonesboro. Norma has lived the majority of her life in Jonesboro while also spending a brief time living in Kansas City, Missouri. She was of the Baptist faith.

Norma loved talking to people while also listening to the news about current events. Most of all, Norma enjoyed visiting with family members through conversations on the phone.

In addition to her parents, Norma is preceded in death by her Husband David Richard Walker, son, Leon Walker, and sister, Lessie Stevenson.
Norma is survived by one son, Larry(Betha) Walker of Grand Junction, Colorado; two daughters, Susan West(Robert) Atkerson of Jonesboro and June(Gary) Rodman of Amarillo, Texas; one brother, Leon(Joanne) Mullins of Jonesboro; four grandchildren, Jennifer Briggs, Thad West, Katy Rowoldt, and Amy Laur; thirteen great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Private graveside service with active pallbearers being: Larry Walker, Thad West, Logan West, and Robert Atkerson.

The family wishes to express thanks to the staff of St. Bernard’s Medical Center, St. Bernard’s Hospice and a special thanks to her nephew Dr. Richard Stevenson for being so influential in providing tender loving care to our mother.
