Norma Lee Taylor

November 18, 1926 — June 2, 2015

Norma Taylor, 88, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at her residence after an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Joseph C. Taylor.

Norma Lee is survived by two daughters: Julie Simpson of Jonesboro, Kim Norvell and husband, Tom, of Nashville, Tennessee and one son, J. Mark Taylor and wife, Kay, of Jonesboro, and two sisters, Cheryl Royer and Sharon Clark. Mrs. Taylor was affectionately known as "Nana" to her grandchildren, Stephanie Sitzes and husband, Dave, Grant Norvell and wife, Bethany, and Laura Lee Howard and husband, Alex, and her great-grandchildren, Cassie and Aaron Sitzes, Isabel Norvell, and Norah Lee Howard. Norma was also known as “Ladybug” to a dear friend and caregiver, Maize Alphin.

Norma Lee was a board member with Abilities Unlimited for 29 years. She was also an active member of the Southwest Church of Christ.

The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to Stacy Anderson and Tamisha Smith, they were both very special caregivers to Norma Lee throughout her extended illness.

Funeral service will be Friday morning at 10:00am in the Emerson Memorial Chapel with Tom Norvell officiating. Interment will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 4, 2015 from 5-7pm at Emerson Funeral Home.
